The Benefits of an Arch Support

An arch support can help distribute weight more evenly when wearing high heels. Typically, the greatest weight is borne by two main points on the foot, but a properly fitted arch support helps distribute it across three support points. As a result, the foot may feel more stable, and wearing high heels may be more comfortable.

However, it’s important to know that this solution may not be suitable for everyone. Every foot is different, so it’s essential to test the support properly and pay close attention to how it feels.

How to Properly Apply an Arch Support

Most importantly, the support must be applied precisely, and all of its edges and support points must lie completely flat against the insole of the shoe.✅ All edges and support points fit snugly against the insole.
✅ The support comfortably cradles the arch.
✅ The foot feels stable; there is no sensation of slipping or pressure.

After attaching the support, take a walk and assess how it feels:

  • If you feel as though the support is pushing or “throwing” your foot out of the shoe, it means it’s attached in the wrong place.
  • If there isn’t enough space left near the ball of your foot after applying the support, you’ve placed it too low.
  • A properly applied support should comfortably support the arch but should not squeeze or alter the stable position of your foot in the shoe.

Important: If you experience discomfort, pain, or have other foot problems, we recommend consulting an orthopedic traumatologist.

Incorrectly attached medial arch support

❌ The support is attached too low—leaving no room for the pads of the feet.
❌ The support “pushes” or “slips” the foot out of the shoe.
❌ Incorrect positioning—causing discomfort and instability.

IMPORTANT!

An arch support may not be suitable for everyone.
It’s important to test it properly and pay attention to how it feels.
If you have other foot problems, consult an orthopedic surgeon.
